The Difference Between A Day Trader And An Investor

By James Larson

Although many people seem to confuse day trading with investing these two are not the same. Whereas investing is done within long periods of time day trades usually buy and sell stock in much shorter time intervals. Even though it all depends on the stock a day trader does not invest in a company. They buy and sell stock with the intent of making money based on the small fluctuation in price.

Day trading is more like speculating it is not investing. Some say that day trading is like gambling in some ways but I disagree. It doesn't offer the possible security investing can offer but it is far from gambling. Day traders analyze what is going on. They educate themselves about a specific company and arm themselves with statistical analysis.

Stock prices fluctuate constantly. Depending on how many people buy or sell a stock then the price changes. Day traders rely on this fact to make money. When a day trader has information that says a stock price will rise in the near future they will make a purchase and hold until right before the prices starts dropping again. It is these daily small fluctuations that the day trader depends on to make a profit.

While a day trader is looking for relatively small returns real investors are in it for the long run and they are looking for much larger price fluctuations in stock. Investors research and buy so that their return is preferably higher than what they would get if they save their money in the bank also taking inflation in consideration.

If you are thinking about playing some money in the stock market then you should be aware of the potential risks. You wont become an investor or a day trader overnight. The idea that practice makes perfect applies to both investing and day trading.

The primary difference between an investor and a day trader is time and percentages. These two terms shouldn't be confused because they are used to describe two different techniques.

Educating yourself about the techniques involved in day trading and investing is very important if you are starting out. You need to be able to spend some time and learn what is involved in the two processes. - 23311

Forex Strategies Money Management

By Chris Green

When taking a look at forex strategies, it is good to adapt one that I call money management. Sounds simple enough doesnt it? Well it is and isnt. Using your money properly to leverage your trading potential is one of the most important strategies of forex. Knowing how much of your trading account to keep tied up in a trade is very important. You never want to put all your chips in one trade, sure you may make a huge profit, but you can also lose your entire trading account.

When it comes to money management for forex strategies, it is a good idea to get this mastered. Without proper management of your money, it can make the difference between successful and bad trades. Any given time you shouldn't have any more than half of your trading account tied up into trades. Worse case scenario you will still have some lee way for the trades. Just remember that it is a good idea to keep to as many trades as you are comfortable with and can watch.

Learning a few forex strategies first, or even just starting off with money management is very important for any trader. Getting this mastered is not hard, once you do trading will be at a lowered risk level. Being in over your head, frustrated with too many trades is never a good position. This should not become a habit, once in this situation, it is never easy to recover.

When trying to find more forex strategies to add to your skill set, it is always a good idea to talk to people in the industry. Ask them what strategies work for them, everyone is different. Test out new strategies you hear of with a smaller investment. Dont forget to give it some time, you cant test a strategy in one day, it can take weeks to figure out if it is really working for you. Once you are certain a strategy works, stick with it, and repeat by testing out other strategies.

Before you know it, your forex strategies will be tested results that you know for yourself. When you have a handful of good strategic approaches down, you will find that trades are easier, profits will soar, and you will enjoy your time into forex more. One way to give your self an instant edge over the rest is to get a strategy that is new, or hard to find out about. After a long time of testing and searching, the ultimate strategic approach was found. - 23311

Software You Can Use to Get Out of Debt Software You Can Use to Become Debt Free The Best Software for Getting Out of Debt The Best Software Programs for Getting Out of Debt

By Sean Payne

If you're stuck with loads of debt, you may have noticed that many of those who get out of debt tend to use some kind of financial software. There's a good reason for them to do so: It works like crazy!

There's a saying that Success leaves clues. This means that people who are successful in getting out of debt have done specific things that got them out of debt, and that by doing the same things that they've done, you can get out of debt, too.

One of the things that people who get out of debt have usually done is to make a debt payoff plan, and then to work that plan. If you've created a plan to get out of debt, the right software will help you stick to your plan.

The best software for getting out of debt is called budgeting software. I like to use a spreadsheet program known as "You Need A Budget". It has done so much to help me get out of debt. I credit my success in getting out of debt to my budgeting spreadsheet program.

There are many other great budgeting software programs. One popular program, known as Mvelopes Personal, is a web-based budgeting system that allows you to access your budget from anywhere that has Internet access. It also access your bank accounts to automatically enter your purchases into your budget.

A free budgeting program that you can use is called Mint. Mint is another web-based budget that doesn't cost you anything to use. A unique feature of Mint that is really great for users is that it compares that rates you pay on your debt to new offers from credit card issuers. Then, if it discovers a card that charges a lower rate, it will notify you so that you can save up to thousands of dollars on your debt while you're paying it off. It will do the same thing for bank accounts - if it finds a bank that pays higher interest on its accounts, Mint will let you know about it, potentially letting you earn a lot more money on your savings accounts.

Besides budgeting programs, there are other debt reduction programs, both free and paid, that will help you stick to your plan for getting out of debt.

Microsoft Money is another program that can help you manage a budget and the rest of your finances. Another program, Intuit Quicken, is similar to Microsoft Money, so the choice of which to use is up to you, since they both do most of the same things. My biggest complaint about Money and Quicken is that they actually do too much. They have so many functions and features that you will likely be distracted from your quest to get out of debt.

My advice is to stick with a simple budgeting program that helps you track your expenses, income, and debts. don't get caught up in complicated software that does more than you need it to. Even a spreadsheet that you create can help, but I recommend that you use software that has a good reputation of helping others to get out of debt.

Whatever software you choose to help you with your debts, start using it today and don't switch software unless it really doesn't do what you want it to. Use it consistently, every day or every week as your situation requires, and your software will quickly get you out of debt. - 23311

What Can Covered Calls do for Me?

By Marc Abrams

In today's stock market, investors have more choices than the purchase of stocks, bonds or mutual funds. Strategies such as buying and selling stock options can increase returns or minimize losses.

There are two main types of options, a call option and a put option. We are going to discuss call options. A call option is defined as a contract that gives the holder the right to buy the underlying security at a specified price for a certain, fixed period of time.

Generally, buying one option contract gives the purchaser the right to buy 100 shares of a stock. If the stock price exceeds the intended price (known as the strike price) the option can be exercised and profit made on the difference between the current price and the strike price.

As long as a market exists for the option, it can be bought or sold any time until it expires. Options become worthless at expiration if they are not sold or exercised prior to that date.

It is possible for an investor to be either a buyer or a seller for a call option. Selling naked calls means that an investor will sell an option without owning stock to offset the option. This is a high risk strategy and therefore most brokers will require substantial equity in your account before they approve you for this strategy. If you sell a naked call, General Electric, for example at a $15 strike price with two months left until expiration you would receive $100. That $100 represents the option premium. If the stock stays below $15 per share you get to keep the $100 premium which you made with no money invested because you sold a naked call. Sounds fantastic, right? However, if stock shoots up to $40 per share, you would be obligated to go to the market and purchase 100 shares of GE for $4,000 and deliver it to the option holder for a loss of $2,400 ($1,500 strike price received less $4,000 cost of shares plus $100 option premium received.) I hope you can see why this strategy carries unlimited risk. I do not recommend this strategy for new option traders.

A safer strategy is to sell covered calls, where the investor owns the underlying stock, and sells the call option. If you had owned the GE stock in the above example you would have simply delivered the 100 shares you already owned to the option holder, and received the strike price of $1,500, and kept the $100 premium.

I know what you're thinking. I just gave up all that increase in stock price by selling GE at $15 per share instead of $40 per share. This is true. That is why it is not advisable to sell covered calls on stock that you want to keep. There are variations of covered call option strategies that you can use to generate impressive returns without worrying about the stock being called away.

I successfully use covered calls as part of my investment strategy. Covered calls provide a safe, reliable method for me to generate consistent returns regardless of which direction the stock market moves. The key is learning a little known variation of this popular strategy to increase your success rate in all market conditions. - 23311

What Are Forex Signals

By Larry Thomas

The Foreign Exchange market give traders the opportunity to make huge amounts of money in very little time. It is not uncommon for one to go from broke to wealthy. This unique market allows you to work from anywhere at pretty much anytime. It can free you from the mundane day to day and give you what you always dreamed of.

Success in the forex market can happen, provided you know when to get in and out of the market. Coming up with a profitable trading system is easier said than done as the market can be extremely volatile. For experienced traders, knowing how to trade is almost second nature.

Now traders with experience know when to enter a trade, which direction, and then when to get out. It takes years of studying the market to get good at this which can be a turn off to the newbie internet trader. However using forex signals can help you beat the learning curve or at least help you start making a profit more quickly.

Let's imagine that you are a trader (forex) and your sitting at your computer ready to go. Platform is up and money is in the account. You are watching the market and waiting for the perfect time to jump in. A new email comes through letting know to buy the USD/CHF pair. You submit the trade into your platform always taking into account how much you can afford to risk. You let the trade run live and before you know it another emails comes through saying to close out your position. You do so and notice the you had a nice win. The trade was profitable and your day was set. This is the idea of forex signals.

Signals in Forex let you leverage the experience of veteran traders and help you become profitable on your own. You don't even need to go to school or take a class but I do recommend a course if you are just starting out. You can do it on your own which saves you money on someone managing your finances or your trades.

With forex signals, you handle all of the trades personally. Someone who knows more about forex trading than you do will send you an alert when it's time to make a trade. Obviously, you can see the beauty of this scenario. Don't spend any of your time learning the craft, but still profit handsomely from the dynamic forex market.

With all of that being said, finding a good source for your forex signals is paramount to your success. If you're taking forex signals from some guy that has no idea what the forex market is, then you're probably not going to be much better off than you were before. You need to do your homework and make sure that the forex signals are indeed profitable.

The first thing you should do is test your signals on a demo account. Hopefully a majority of them are good and profitable. Nothing is one hundred percent all the time. Then if you are feeling comfortable and confident with your source its time to sign up for the forex signals. Only thing left to do is trade and make money! - 23311

IRS And Doeren Mayhew Provide Guidance on New COBRA Rules

By Doeren Mayhew

The bureau recently free guidance, in a question and respond format, addressing how employers are to lot and essay recovery of the new COBRA payment subsidy enacted under the American ecovery and Reinvestment Tax Act of 2009 (P.L. 111-5). The Act provides that an individual who has been involuntarily terminated on or after September 1, 2008, through the end of 2009 is required to clear only 35% of the group health shelter payment to bonded COBRA continuation coverage (up to nine months).

The new guidance focuses on two broad areas: Form preparation - the mechanics of how an employer recovers the COBRA premium subsidy through a payroll credit claimed on IRS Form 941, and administration and eligibility. The guidance also addresses common inquiries surrounding the timing of when the subsidy begins and ends.

How the Subsidy Works: A former employee and his or her family are "assistance eligible employees" if they are eligible for COBRA health insurance continuation coverage as a result of any involuntary termination occurring from September 1, 2008, through December 31, 2009. These individuals are required to pay only 35% of the group health insurance premium that would otherwise apply.

Under the Act, the "person to whom the premiums are payable" - generally, the employer - pays the other 65% of the COBRA continuation premium. The employer will then be reimbursed by means of a federal payroll tax credit claimed on Form 941.

The Payroll Credit Generally, an employer can claim the payroll credit for the COBRA payment subsidy on Form 941, Employer's Quarterly Federal Tax Return. To do so, the employer should enter the amount of any COBRA payment assistance payments paid on behalf of employees for that lodge on Line 12a. The amount entered should equal 65% of suitable workers' total COBRA payment payments - not amounts received from past employees.

In its Guidance, the bureau indicated that there has been some fault surrounding the proper sort of individuals to be reported on Line 12b as having received COBRA payment assistance reported on Line 12a. The guidance clarifies that only one individual should be counted for Line 12b purposes in a situation where a past employee has also secured coverage for other qualifying individuals much as a relative and/or children.

Timing Issues from the IRS: The bureau has also clarified that the COBRA payment reduction applies as of the first punctuation of coverage beginning on or after February 17, 2009, for which a qualifying reflex terminated employee is suitable to clear 35% of the premium. The exact fellow of coverage is force upon the punctuation to which premiums are charged to the plan. The 35% payment subsidy generally applies until the earliest of three events: (1) when the past employee secures other health shelter coverage; (2) the fellow that is nine months after the first day of the first period for which the special COBRA payment subsidy provision applies; or (3) the fellow the individual is no individual suitable for COBRA continuation coverage. - 23311

Do Annuities Help Plan for a Retirement Income

By Mari Cates

Are Annuities Good For Providing Retirement Income?

These are sold by insurance companies, but contain features of both insurance and savings. They are generally used to save money for a longer term goal or to provide income. Many people use them for retirement, but others find that they are effective ways to build a college education fund or save for a home.

There are two main types of way to build up the cash value, so something can start generating income for retirement.

An immediate annuity is funded by one large sum at the start. Consider a retiree with a lump sum payout or a person who has inherited cash from a family member. This product, as the name implies, begins to make income for the owner right away.

A deferred annuity, on the other hand, must be kept intact for a period of time that is agreed to when it is applied for. If money is withdrawn before this, except for specified reasons, the owner must pay a penalty. So these are meant to reach longer term goals, and for people who do not need the money right away. They could be funded with a lump sum or with a series of payments made over a period of years.

How do annuity payouts work? By now you probably realize that you are investing your cash in order to be able to withdraw cash back. Some annuities may be guaranteed to pay for life, while some may only pay for 10 years. The option that you choose will depend upon your own assets, needs, and individual circumstances.

You can also find annuities with flexible options, so that the owner does not need to take payments. Some people use this to set aside an emergency fund or leave money for their heirs.

One of the biggest advantages annuities give you is the way the IRS treats them. They grown and compound as tax deferred investments. The way that payouts will be taxed depends upon the qualified or non-qualified tax status a particular product has.

Another advantage is the safety of fixed products. Fixed products may pay at a contract rate, or they may be pegged to a market index.

Consider one common market like the S&P 500. In good years, when the index goes up, the cash account will grow at a rate that is pegged to that market index. In down years, when the index is down, the cash account will be guaranteed not to lose money. It may either be set to remain stable, or even to earn a set rate like 2%.

Now that you understand a little bit about annuities, you probably want to know how long you can get payments for. You probably also want to know how large those payments will be. Of course this depends upon your accumulated cash value, growth rate, and the type of product you have. - 23311

Important Penny Stock Info

By Rashel Dan

How your penny shares operate is like going into an auction. An asking price is set at the lowest value and then when the bidding starts, the price rises. If you're the seller, you check your starting price and compare it with the current bid. If your selling price is met, you trade and then the transaction is closed. The difference with an auction is that the price doesn't go down. Stock prices do. Today there a number of techniques being developed to monitor your penny stock info and bidding.

Research - Any active stock investor would tell you that you have to do your own research. While penny stock advisors and brokerage firms help in facilitating your sale, it is always helpful to have your penny stock info ready when needed. The more you know, the better your opportunity to gain profit. The more you understand the trade, the lesser your chances of falling into the pit.

Because of the availability of free information in the internet though, it can be a bit difficult to make decisions. Especially if you are new to the business, experience is your better half. Be attentive and be very alert about fabricated information. This is a trading business and it involves money. You have to be able to know which penny stock info is reliable for your use.

Now, there are available softwares to help small cap investors and stock brokers monitor the stocks. The moment your stocks are pegged, it can be a roller coaster ride. Thus you need to stay close to the facts and observe your investment in the penny stock market. Here are some tips and information about how the transactions are made:

- Buying Penny Stocks - Set your funds ready and be sure you'll be able to pay the shares and your stock broker's commission.

- The Ticker Symbols - These are initials or abbreviations of companies that are selling their shares to the public stock exchange. This is standardized for easy management, inventory, and recall.

- Stock Exchange - The more dependable stocks are being traded in major stock exchange. Examples are NASDAQ, NYSE, and AMEX.

- Volume of Shares - Of course, you must be clear on your penny stock info sheets how much of the shares you want to buy or sell. But beware and don't fall into extra commissions being charged to you.

- Opening and Closing Dates. These are dates that you set your stock to be available for sale. This must also include active dates (dates when your shares are still open for bid) and the date when you hope to close your stocks.

- Selling The Penny Stocks - It is important to take note of the above mentioned - the volume of shares to sell, ticker symbol, names of the stock and the stock exchange.

- The Share Price and the Dates - Again it is important not to miss out the selling price and the time span to which your stocks are active and open for bidding.

Of course, there's more. But this article doesn't intend to give you any penny stock info overload. Too much technical knowledge may not be a good practice. Take this investment carefully. Your penny stocks are good money and therefore delicate. Make haste slowly. - 23311

Look Out for the Debt Settlement Tax - What to Do About It

By Sean Payne

If you're still in debt, you're probably thinking about talking to your creditors about settling your debts for less than you owe. Beware, though. What you probably don't know about debt settlement is that it can have a great impact on your taxes.

If you negotiated a settlement with your creditors, you're basically "earning" money from your debt. Here's how it works: If you took out a loan for $10,000 and couldn't pay it back, but negotiated with your creditors for them to accept $6,000 as full payment of your loan, you've pocketed $4,000 (the difference between how much you borrowed and how much you paid back). The IRS takes a close look at these kinds of loan repayments.

I'm sure that at one point, there was a loophole in the IRS tax laws that allowed for this to happen. Unfortunately, the IRS is quick to get wise about these types of things. Just like so many other tax loopholes, this one has been closed.

As I mentioned in the example above, settling credit card debt or any other debt for less than you owe your creditor will probably result in you being held liable for the "profit" you realize after paying off your debt. Keep this in mind when you file your taxes after settling your debts.

Even though this debt settlement tax may sound like a bad thing, you're still better off having settled your debt, even after taxes. In our example, you've realized a $4,000 "gain", but at most you'll have to pay about 30% (depending on your tax bracket). Even after you've paid the tax, though, you still only paid $7,200 in repayment of a $10,000 debt. That's a 28% discount, and is still a huge bargain.

Because the debt settlement tax comes as a surprise to many people, they don't do anything about it until the IRS comes to audit them. Don't let this hidden tax take you by surprise.

If you require more information about how to plan for this tax, please talk to a CPA or other tax expert. - 23311

Keys To Living The Law Of Attraction

By Barbara Remirez

We already observe the more mundane versions of the Law of Attraction on a daily basis. How often have we seen someone put out negative energy in the form of anger only to get anger back? How often have we seen that some people never seem to have a problem with anyone due to their own calm manner? Everything is energy and energy attracts the same energy.

The Law of Attraction is always working. There isn't an off switch with this universal law. And it works whether you are aware of it or not.

If you are fine tuning your signals to let others know what you are looking for, the physical vibrations coming back to you will be very relevant. It is about learning who you are and broadcasting it so that you get exactly what you want.

Before you use the Law of Attraction to manifest money, a common application, you have to understand that you still have to pay attention to the monetary laws that dominate our world. If you pay no attention to them, you are going to wind up disappointed. This is the reason why so many "systems" for manifesting money fail to deliver. They try to bypass the economic laws and create "magic" money.

To become good at manifesting, here is what you need to become good at.

Think about what you really want in life. It may not be money and it may not even be for yourself. Whatever the situation, you write down your needs, visualizing them as you go. You must be precise. What make is the car? What model? What is its color? Does it have leather upholstery, or vinyl? What color is the upholstery, etc. Make it so real in your mind that when you look out of your window, you fully anticipate to see it.

It is like learning a new skill. Mind reprogramming requires reinforcement and repetition.

The Universe holds all the riches we could possibly want. The Law of Attraction is the most effective means through which you may attain wealth and success, even freedom from illness, provided you believe in it absolutely.

Finally, take a moment to look back every once in a while. You may be traveling at a snail's pace but even a snail covers a fair amount of ground over time. You will be a lot farther along in 6 months than you are now. So pat yourself on the back, give yourself praise for your accomplishments, and then turn your sights forward once again!

The Bill Collector Letter That Shuts Them Up

By Sean Payne

Remember that feeling you got when the letter from the bill collector came in the mail? Remember the cold feeling in your gut when you realized that you owed money that you couldn't repay? And after that, the phone calls and additional letters hounding you for the money that you knew you didn't have.

It's time to turn the tables. It's time to learn your rights and to exercise them.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act is a Federal law that outlines what debt collectors can and can't do to collect debts from you. The Act, also known as the FDCPA, puts definite limits on when and how these debt collectors can contact you to collect.

An example of what a debt collector can't do is to call you at work, unless they're doing it to find out a telephone number to call you at your house. They're also not allowed to inform other people, such as your employer, about any debts that you owe.

Also, debt collectors can't call you or continue to contact you if you tell them that they aren't to do so anymore. That's what we're going to learn to do.

The magic letter to bill collectors is made up of two parts:

The first thing is your identifying information. This includes your name, address, account number of the debt that the bill collector is trying to collect on, and any other information that they need to identify you.

The second thing is to tell them that you want them to cease communicating with you in any way.

These two things are all that the FDCPA requires that you do to keep the debt collector from harassing you or contacting you in the future. The only correspondence that the debt collector can send you in the future is a letter that says they will cease contacting you, and whether they're going to pursue any legal action to collect on the debt.

When you send this letter, it's always good to send it by certified mail with a delivery receipt requested. The delivery receipt lets you know that the debt collector actually received the letter. Make sure that you keep this receipt in case you ever have to prove that they received the letter.

According to the FDCPA, if the bill collector contacts you in the future in violation of the law, you have the right to report the bill collector to the FTC. The FTC is the Federal Agency that enforces the FDCPA. Once you have notified the FTC of the bill collector's violation of the law, they can pursue legal action against the bill collector.

Keep in mind that even after you let the debt collector know about your desire not to be contacted, they still can pursue legal action against you to collect on the debt. This handy letter can only protect you from being harassed by debt collectors. It can't keep you from being sued by the debt collectors if they still want to collect on the debt. - 23311

Understanding Exchange Traded Funds

By Mike Swanson

As of June 2007, SPY ETF has become the largest exchange stock trading fund in the world. It is sponsored by PDR services LLC, which in itself is a subsidiary of American Stock Exchange LLC. It does, however, have some considerable competition on the market. The most formidable ETFs holding stock picks are listed on the New York Stock exchange as IVV, RSP, SH, RSU, SSO, RSW, SDS, UPRO and SPXU.

An exchange-traded fund (ETF) is a method of trading on stock exchanges. In principle, an ETF is worth the same as the stocks they represent. This is valued at whatever those assets are worth over the day's trading. As of 2009, there are 680 exchange-traded funds on the US markets, accounting for $610 billion in assets.

Their popularity is based on the easy diversification that they facilitate across the entire index. In addition, ETFs are usually much cheaper to manage than most other trading options. They are also much more tax efficient than shares and stocks. As they can be bought at any time during the day they are also more flexible. Unlike other options, there is much more market transparency to ETFs.

State Street Global Advisors, the Boston asset manager, launched SPDRs in January 1993. They were formulated by Nathan Moss, who worked on the American Stock exchange. In May 1995, MidCap SPDRs were introduced to the market. They can be found on the New York Stock Exchange, listed as "SPY" and "MDY".

The Index Participation Shares (IDSs) of the late 1980s is the precursor to the ETF. IDSs were traded on both the Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PSE) and the American Stock Exchange (ASE). The US courts put a stop to there use following a lawsuit from Chicago Mercantile Exchange in 1990.

Following this the Toronto Stock Exchange began trading its own version of Index Participation Shares. These were so popular that the American Stock exchange started looking for something similar that could pass US regulation. The result was the ETF. The Standard & Poor's Depositary Receipts (SPDRs) became the first ETF in the United States. They are often referred to as "spiders" or "spyders". - 23311

This is the Secret to Becoming a Successful Covered Call Option Writer

By Marc Abrams

Wow! The stock market is certainly interesting these days. Many people, including me, have given up trying to predict the direction of the market. Thankfully, I've found myself in the position to be able to say "Who cares!"

This attitude is not due to the fact that I have essentially surrendered to the stock market and relegated my future to fate. I have made a monumental change in my investment strategy.

The world is full of people that fail to see the advantages to covered call writing. My favorite piece of advice I get from these so called market experts is that "covered call writing fails because the market takes away your winners and leaves you with the losers". I find this hilarious. If I enter a trade with the potential to earn 8% for the market calls my stock that means I locked in that gain. Who cares if the stock continues to rise in value, I just made 8% for the month!

The average investor needs to remain focused on their goal in order to be successful using covered calls. Forget about what could have been. Don't focus on the unforeseen benefits that you never received as this will cause you to lose site of why you entered into the trade to begin with. Consistent monthly returns of 2% to 10% gains will definitely more than make up for any appreciation at you lost when the stock was called away. Making money is your goal, keep focused on that!

Now that we've addressed the fallacy about the market taking the winners, let's focus in on the losers. The real fact is that stocks decline at a faster rate than they go up. Fear and panic sometimes force people to act on emotion and not on logic. This is where the covered call option writer needs to protect himself. How is this done? The answer is beyond the scope of this article, but I will say that it can be done rather easily.

What if you can use a strategy to protect yourself when the market goes down thereby locking in those same gains. Think about it, knowing what your gain will be even before you enter into a trade! I call that taking control of your investments. I am here to tell you that you can do that reliably and that I do that very thing month after month.

The key to being a successful covered call option seller is to remain focused on your goal and protect the downside. You must find a proven strategy that will allow you to stick to a plan regardless of which direction the stock market is moving in. Now you need to make a decision. Do you want to be the kind of investor that gambles on hopes of finding the next super stock? Or do you want to be the investor the builds wealth and becomes rich by using systematic, low risk strategies to beat the market month after month?

I've made my decision. - 23311

Boeing Does Not Bring In Any Orders At The Paris Air Show

By Jennifer McClelland

With the Air France calamity still awfully unsullied in everybody?s thoughts, above all individuals in Paris (where numerous of the victims were from), the Paris Air Show wasn?t the same spectacle it usually is. With it being the 100th anniversary of the show, it seems that the disaster of Air France Flight 447 is still weighing heavily on airlines.

At the opening day of the Air Show, Boeing didn?t obtain one lone purchase and its main competition Airbus was only capable to obtain just one sell from Qatar Airways for 27 airplanes.

The buy from Airbus for the 24 A320 solo passageway airplanes is worth $1.9 billion, well that?s the list fee anyway. Regularly airlines, specially given the global economic state, are able to haggle down the cost to a much more practical level.

The big winner of the day ended up being Canada?s Bombardier airplane. The Canadian airplane maker announced that it had 35 offers for its CRJ100 jets offered by Air Nostrum, the deal is worth $1.75 billion. Bombardier are characteristically smaller planes and don?t travel the vast distances that Airbus and Boeing jets do.

Boeing has been having a tricky time selling their wares considering the lack of commercial flying and even weakening military sales. If you look at commercial flight inside the United States, the majority of flights are on smaller regional jets like the Bombardiers now. When I booked a flight from Memphis to Washington D.C., I was only able to fly on smaller regional jets versus just a couple years previously when the same trip could have been booked on a Boeing 727 or Airbus.

Boeing did try to enliven the mood regarding its sales however:

?At this point it appears to us that the economic circumstances have bottomed. If they have bottomed and a revival happens next year, I think we have a shot at getting through,? said Scott Carson, president and CEO of Boeing?s commercial division.

Hopefully things will recover for the Chicago located company, or possibly it is time for them to start producing the smaller airplanes that appear to be selling better. - 23311

The Process Of Using Currency Technical Analysis

By Terry Henderson

If trading currency with a minimal time investment and a good financial return is your goal, then read on. This article is the teaching tool to help you understand and employ the theory and analysis of the currency market so you can how to read and build the trading charts with expertise.

The main advantages of using these charts is that it helps someone spot trends and price patterns. If you are paying attention to this and learn to use them correctly, you dont need to follow financial news stories. All you need to do is follow your charts and learn to read them.

There are key factors to learn the proper strategy for using these charts. Trends tend to show up in repeating patterns, so using them correctly means big profits. Plan your strategies in a simple, easy to understand way and it will have fewer factors to keep track of, and therefore offer you an easier way to turn those high profits.

First, you need to chose how to spot basic chart patterns and learn to use these indicators to confirm any trading signals. What you use is up to you, but I suggest using three specific ones. The ones I use are Bollinger Bands, which show volatility, and stochastic and RSI, which show the strength of price fluctuations. Learning how to use these three indicators only takes 24 hours or less and can be an essential item in learning about currency trading.

The surest way to spend a lot of time and realize little, or no, monetary gain is to get lured into day trading or scalping. Stay away from this kind of market noise. Remember, you'll see the moneymakers that have staying power and allow you to reap a big reward on the currency charts you've constructed. These are the movements that last for weeks and months, and provide you with gains and leverage.

A common error that new traders make is trying to predict whether prices will rise or fall. This is a bad habit because prediction is just another way of saying you hope or guess something may happen. This is not a logical or smart trading practice, so it is not advised.

Instead, follow the advice of millionaire traders; do trade breakouts when using currency charts. Check out the current trends and pay attention to any bull trends. Usually they start by breaking into the market high and can develop from there. This way offers the most rewards with the least amount of risks.

All in all, if you want to make money trading, use long term trends using these breakouts and a simple strategy. This way you learn to trade with discipline instead of impulse and will be on your way to currency trading success. Good luck! - 23311

Learn How To Make Money In The Stock Market

By Grant Dougan

When people see the term "Penny stocks" this is refering to stocks of businesses that are valued at extremely small prices. Many people are drawn to these investments as they can call for a small initial investment, but you must note that there sometimes there is a high risk of the share value decreasing to nothing. Although there are certainly risks taken in these kinds of stocks, there's also a sizeable potential for tremendous gains.

When trying to choose a penny share to put money in in you are going to need to know a few things about the business. Just like investing in other stocks, you want to understand the type of business they are involved with and what company plans they have for the upcoming years.

It is uncommon that the businesses that issue these kinds of shares have hard to understand organizations - likely they are simple to understand and analyze. One typical kind of penny share is a resource organization that profits when the cost of the resource it extracts increases above a certain level. There are also some oil exploration stocks that are valued in the same way.

Penny stocks are seen as a high risk investment, according to the many pros. Naturally there's always the risk that the business won't survive even with enough research.

Reporting guidelines on penny shares are not as stringent as they are for stocks listed on the national exchanges. One kind of penny stock is referred to as the Pink Sheets, there's hardly any regulatory requirements on penny stocks, no set accounting guidelines or reporting guidelines.

As you can imagine, due to this lack of regulation, this sort of stock is extremely vulnerable to being manipulated and unfortunately even fraud. People posing as independent observers will use their influence to jump]work up penny stock prices, then they'll unload and delist the share. This is a well known con known as a pump and dump.

Now, even with that said it doesn't mean you should never invest in these stocks entirely. There are plenty of real, legitimate start up companies, and they have to get going somewhere. Tons of companies that are listed as penny stocks are going to be successful in the oncoming future. If you're able to spot one of these organizations, your gains on your investment will be massive.

If you are able to spot out organizations that have promising futures, your return on investment will be sizeable. It's possible that you drop money on several picks, yet when you find a winning share it will give you such a big profit that the losing choices won't be remembered. - 23311

What Impacts the Price of a Stock? How Useful is Historical Data?

By Marv Doniger

There are a myriad of factors that are commonly used by investors to evaluate potential stock investments. These investment opportunities are often identified through the use of the numerous stock screeners that are readily available to investors. Common searches seek to identify companies that have a low Price Earnings, Price to Book Value, or Price to Cash Flow Ratio; high Dividend Yields; high Returns on Assets, Invested Capital, or Earnings; low Debt to Equity; and high Cash balances. In fact there are pre-defined stock screeners such as the Contrarian Strategy, Dogs of the Dow, Momentum Stocks, New 52-Week Highs, etc. that can be used to identify stocks in which to invest. The implicit assumption in using stock screeners is that there is a relationship between this data and the future performance of a stock. Should this assumption be valid then all one would have to do is run his/her magic screener and buy those stocks with his/her favorite criteria such as low Price Earnings Ratio and high Dividend Yield. In order to validate the premise that the data obtained from stock screeners influences the price of a company's stock, the change in the price of the Dow 30 Industrial stocks from 1999 to 2009 was compared to changes in the Returns they generated, their Financial Condition and Performance over that same time period. Returns included Returns on Equity, Invested Capital and Assets as well as Dividends paid to investors. Financial Condition included Current Ratio, Debt to Equity Ratio, along with Interest Coverage and Dividend Coverage. Performance included Sales, Earnings, Book Value and Cash Flow trends. A correlation analysis was conducted to determine the relationship of the price of each of the companies comprising the Dow Industrials and these factors. The hypothesis being that there was a statistically valid relationship between these factors.

As the following chart shows, dividends had a statistically significant impact on the change in the price of the stock of Exxon Mobil, Hewlett-Packard, Merck, and Verizon. It had a moderate impact on the price of the stock of Alcoa, Bank of America, DuPont, General Electric and JP Morgan Chase. Earnings had a strong impact on the price of Citigroup's and Exxon Mobil's stock. The stock price of Caterpillar, Chevron, Johnson & Johnson, McDonalds, Proctor & Gamble, and United Technologies was moderately impacted by earnings. Price changes in the stock of Exxon Mobil were statistically significantly impacted by its Dividends, Cash, Earnings, Book Value and Cash Flow and moderately impacted by its Return on Invested Capital, Dividend Coverage and Sales. Another company whose price movement could be partially explained by change in these factors is Caterpillar. There were moderately statistically significant relationships between its price and its Returns on Equity, Investment and Assets; its Interest and Dividend Coverage; as well as its Earnings and Cash Flow. Perhaps one of the most astonishing results is that there were no statistically meaningful relationships between the changes in the price of the stocks of 3M, American Express, AT&T, Boeing, Intel, IBM, Kraft, Microsoft, Pfizer, Coca-Cola, Home Depot, and Wal-Mart and the measures of Returns, Financial Condition, and Performance used in the analysis. To put it another way, the price movement of 40 percent of the Dow Industrials bore no statistically meaningful relationship to changes in these factors.

FACTORS AFFECTING STOCK PRICE of DOW 30 INDUSTRIALS RETURNS FINANCIAL CONDITION PERFORMANCE Dow 30 Components Company Equity Invested Capital Assets Dividends Current Ratio Debt to Equity Interest Coverage Dividend Coverage Cash Sales Earnings Book Value Cash Flow 3m Co Alcoa Inc ● American Express Company, AT&T Inc. Bank of America Corporation ● Boeing Co., Caterpillar Inc. ● ● ● ● ● ● ● Chevron Corp ●● ● ● ●● ● Citigroup, Inc. ●● ● E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Co ● Exxon Mobil Corp ● ●● ● ●● ● ●● ●● ●● General Electric Company ● General Motors Corporation ● Hewlett-Packard Co. ●● ● Intel Corporation International Business Machines Johnson & Johnson ● ● ● JP Morgan & Chase & Co ● Kraft Foods Inc. McDonald's Corporation ● ● Merck & Co., Inc. ●● Microsoft Corporation, Pfizer Inc, The Coca-Cola Company, The Home Depot, Inc. The Procter & Gamble Company ● ● ● ●● United Technologies Corporation ● ● ● Verizon Communications ●● Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. Impact ● Moderate ●● Significant Data Standard & Poor's

Based on the previous examination of the relationships between the price of the Dow Industrials stocks and certain measurements of their historical data, it should be apparent that stock screeners, in and of themselves, are not sufficient tools to use in selecting potential stock investments. Even if there were statistically significant relationships between the historical price movement and the data used in the stock screener, it does not mean that those relationships would continue in the future. Wall Street constantly warns that past performance is not indicative of future results, yet investors search the past to divine the future. It is like driving in traffic by looking through the rear view mirror and missing the collision ahead that is about to happen. As events of the past eighteen months have proven, highly improbable events can occur and inflict unforeseen casualties on investors. Since equity markets are supposedly discounting future events, investors should look through the windshield to see what is ahead of them and use the rear view mirror to see if the vehicle behind them has any relevance to their ultimate destination.

Make Money The Easy Way With Online Forex Trading

By Grant Dougan

Forex trading is now one of the hottest growing money making ideas that individuals are taking a chance with. Currency markets offer people the chance to bring in some sizeable cash and many people are getting into these markets due to the cash they can earn.

Currency trading, like other kinds of stock trading, means you need to buy low and sell high. In this case, as you know, you are dealing in currencies instead of stocks. And just like shares, currency rates grow and decline in value every day. If you buy an undervalued currency - in this example at 65 cents for each unit - and afterwards sell it when the value increases, you will make some profits. That's how currency trading operates.

Even though we understand this appears to be easy in principle, there are many details you need to consider before you jump into the game. As an example, there are several currency pairs that can be traded. You can't actually keep track of the trending data for all of the different currencies. Plus, even when you do decide on a few key currencies to observe, how will you realize when it is just the ideal time to make a transaction?

Here's a quality currency trading computer program can make you increase your money earned. These computer programs are put together by master currency traders and computer geeks and can examine the forex markets for you. The programs will point out when it's time to buy and sell, along with what currencies to put money into.

Thankfully, you don't need to be a technical genius in order to use a forex program. These programs are designed in a way to make it simple for anyone to utilize. They will usually have a demo mode that takes you along the features while you are learning the program. This is a fantastic feature and one that I promote you to search for.

Typically you can try the software risk free, since good companies will have no problem offering a money back guarantee. This lets you try out the program and find out if it's as useful as it promises. And of course, you'll also be able to evaluate whether the software delivers extra money you're hoping to make in the forex markets.

Obviously it's natural to be a tad timid to jump into the currency markets if you're a newbie. That's why a currency trading program can be so useful. You can count on the program to help you make some money as you learn more about the markets.

As your knowledge of the currency markets picks up, you will most likely execute trades coming from your own hunches and also based on what the program tells you. It's However it's still wise to use a currency trading program even after you are out of the starter's stage. Using a trading program will generate for you some extra cash, but it will also help in educating you about the currency markets. - 23311

Real Estate Investing Basics

By Marcus Myer

Location - do not jump in to get a property just because the market is bearish. Consider the locale of the property extremely carefully. The fact is a property with a bad location won't fetch you a good price even if the market is bullish. If you are interested in buying property then make sure that the property is suitably located.

It should be in the vicinity of shopping complexes, malls, surgeries, faculties parks and is going to be easily reached by road and mass transit systems. It could be true that a property will cost you relatively more if it is well located.

long-term - making an investment in property is a long-term offer with convincing returns over a period. However, you have the assurance of your incomes continuously over a few number of years provided you use a prudent and disciplined approach when you invest in property. A property that can fetch good rental earnings is a gold mine.

Don't think of selling such a property. Lease it out instead. Always put aside a certain portion of the earnings for upkeep and maintenance. Many backers who flipped properties found themselves in the middle of a property market crash and were saddled with properties that they could not dispose off.

Lease Option - Never rent a property with a lease option to buy . You must sell or rent it straight out. A lease option goes against the interests of both buyer and seller. In all likelihood, the renter will not buy the property at the end of the lease and the proprietor would have lost a large amount of money re kickbacks on the rent. The lease agreement should have a clause that prevents the tenant-buyer from defaulting on the purchase by allowing you to forfeit the deposit.

Local - Buy local, think local. Concentrate on the idea of investing in buying local property ; at least at the beginning of your real estate investment career. Do not rush to buy property in another state or country, as you would not be so knowledgeable about the conditions. Making an investment in property in other states will boost your expenses vis commuting. Consider the incontrovertible fact that as a prospective owner you will have to inspect the property to determine if there is any damage every month. You'll also have to ensure that the property is not being misused in any way.

It makes for better business sense for you to think local and buy local. - 23311

Makings Of A Covered Call Strategy

By Maclin Vestor

Covered call strategies have advantages and disadvantages. A covered call is essentially giving up a stocks potential for capital gains and exchanging it for income... As you probably can imagine, value investors and contrarian investors, or those who bet on a stock that they believe has underappreciated in value and is on the way down or moving sideways will generally be able to see some value in this. Income investors will love the extra yield.

Merrill Lynch quantitative strategist Richard Bernstein in his book Style Investing: Unique Insight Into Equity Management offers a very useful conceptual framework for understanding the role of earnings and earnings expectations in stocks price growth. The cycle starts from the low where contrarian investors thrive, to the top where the growth investors thrive. Although it is possible to sell deep in the money calls which may allow you to profit on anything from torpedo stocks that have peaked and are plummeting, to contrarians. Or even using higher strike price calls that can allow you to profit from contrarian to growth, generally you would probably want to target any strategy from Dogs to estimate revision. In other words, you want to target stocks that have already been in declined and have surpassed the 2nd half of their decline, to stocks that have began climbing and are less than half way through their moves. To understand this more, check out Richard Bernsteins book Style Investing: Unique Insight Into Equity Management .

Any type of investor could hypothetically use covered calls to his or her advantage. However the stronger move the strategy expects to make with the stock, the quicker you must cut your losses, and the higher strike price you must sell calls. Of course there's also someone that might operate more like Buffett and find companies that are so well managed and so undervalued and have such a good business model that the time frame you own the stock is forever. In this case, you may wish to own a stock through all of the cycles and continue to sell calls and just vary your strategies according to the cycles.

If you wish to execute a covered call you would buy 100 shares of the stock, for every call you sell. If you are using an option spread strategy, your call is still covered if you own another call at a different strike price and/or a different expiration date, but we will not get into this right now.

The thing about covered calls is that it has a few advantages 1) Most stocks will never produce an infinite return which allows you to sell high strike calls to eternal optimists when you think the stock may go up, but won't go up forever. Provided that the premium is more than the fees, you collect income. 2) One thing is certain, that time will continue - a) A stock has value based on it's value of executing the option and selling it immediately.. If a stock option has a strike price of $50 and the stock is priced at $55, this value (known as intrinsic value) is $5. b) A stock option has value based potential. That same option with $5 in intrinsic value is worth more if the stock is expected to make large moves (known as implied volatility). The reason is of course, if someone bought that option, they are more likely to pay more if they believe there is going to be a large move. The supply and demand would of course dictate that a stock expected to move higher would have a high implied volatility. c) A stock option has value based on it's time remaining. That same option with $5 intrinsic value with 6 month until expiration, obviously isn't going to be worth as much as an option with 1 month until expiration. An interesting thing results though. People aren't going to want to lock up cash to own a long term option if they could buy month by month. So time value decays very slowly early on in it's contract, and it accelerates the closer you get until expiration. So someone who buys a long term option will find that this time value does not decay very fast at first, while someone who buys an option that expires in 6 days would find that time value quickly evaporates. As such, in terms of time value alone, it is more expensive to buy 6 1 month options month at a time for 6 months than it is to buy a single 6 month option. The future is less certain to most people, so the way the LEAP(long term option) market works is it is given a high implied volatility 3) Protection against downside - Options can offer value in hedging downside risk. If you buy a put, you are insuring a loss from the current price all the way to 0. If you sell a call, you are protecting your loss to only what you paid for your option. Lets say for example you owned a 100 shares of a $50 stock. If you sold a $50 strike price with 1 month, you might receive $2 a share or $200 for it. You would be protected if the stock went from $50 to $48. However if the stock went to $46, you would still lose $200 rather than $400, but still a loss on paper. The deeper in the money the strike price is, generally the lower the Time and potential value (known as theta). However, the further out of money the option gets, the less probability the stock has of reaching it, so the theta is lower there as well. Generally at the money options will have the most theta. If you purely will be an income collector, you want stocks that stay neutral, and continue to collect the theta through covered calls. A strategy that seeks to take advantage of the cycle will sell deep in the money calls as the person expects the stock to go lower, then sell closer to in the money calls as the cycle begins to cause the stock to flatten out, and then to take advantage of appreciation sell out of the money calls just slightly, and as the stock moves stronger upwards further out of the money calls can be sold. - 23311

Four Reasons Why Some Investors Opt To Trade Penny Stock

By Malcolm Torren

The stock market is a huge established entity that opens opportunities to anyone who is interested in stock trading. Unfortunately, not everyone can enjoy this chance. More so not everyone can afford it. But there are basically three levels of stock investments to choose from. There is the large cap investment for multi-billion firms. Then there's the medium cap shares investment. And lastly the there's the small cap trading commonly known as penny stocks. Some inventors choose to trade penny stock.

Before anything else, the penny stock is also called by many names. Some stock market people would call it microcrap stocks, some would say small caps. Others would also refer to it as nano caps. The closest term used is penny shares. Occasionally it is also referred to as emerging growth. This trade penny stock article will use three variations - small caps, penny shares, and penny stock for the purpose of easy recall.

Here are some of the obvious reasons why some investors opt for penny stock trading than other stock investments:

- It's very cheap. The trade is usually pegged for a starting value not exceeding five dollars per share. In fact, the most frequent practice is priced at three dollars, one dollar, less than a dollar. The only hitch is that not many investors frequent this investment because it is less liquid. Also if these stocks are derived from pink sheets, it's normally lacks important information vital to your decision making.

- More prevalent press releases than large and small cap stocks. Yes, there are more press releases with penny stocks than the other two stock investments. Penny stock promoters do this to expose the information to the public thus attracting more investors. The downside is that, many of these press releases are abused by fraudsters and over hyping them. Fortunately, if your source is credible, media exposure increases the value of your trade penny stock thus an opportunity for profit.

- Penny stocks have higher ROI. Yes this is true. While the dangers of the small caps investments are often forewarned, there is still good money that can be made here. When you understand the trade enough to have that level of confidence, you will see the benefits. The right attitude should be to remember that every investment has risks.

- Emerging companies with new product use penny stocks as a launching pad. Well some but not all. If new products are launched, there is no surety about its success yet. Your only way to determine its probable success is to check the manufacturer's background. In this trade penny stock business, you have to do your own research extensively. Many successful small cap investors spend about five hours per day working and digging information.

So if by any chance you decide to invest in stocks and you don't have enough money yet, try to opt for the small cap investment. Then when you learn the trade penny stock loops, you can always work you way up. Your success can be determined by how much you are willing to work for it. Just stay with accurate facts and be smart with your decisions. - 23311

Shocking Truth About How Real Estate Agents Get Paid

By Adam Moore

You could have dealt with a large amount of estate agents but did you wonder how your property agent gets paid? You surely know of that all of the talk about commission, pc.s, fees, closing costs and so on. Are broken down at closing. However what are his exact earnings? The reality is that you aren't the person that is paying your agent a commission.

It is interesting to grasp that the the guy who slogged so tough to trade or find your house isn't getting as much as you suspect.

The truth is that the estate agent you are interacting with either works for a brokerage house or an established approved broker. Whether it is purchasing or selling the agent brings a customer to the table, and an agreement is signed between the brokerage house and the client.

The commission is then divided up between the houses, and after that the brokers decide how much to pass on to the agent who truly did the all leg work. The total experience he has in this field or in that market, the time the agent has spent with the company and the level of his productiveness decide the amount he is getting.

For instance a green representative may only get thirty p.c of the cut where as a vet who brings in loads of business, could get half or even more of the proceeds.

There's another strategy too. Here the agent can get the whole commission provided he pays charges each month to the brokerage house. You can consider this a a costs or a rent for using the office and using the name of the organization to back his name.

Some representatives find this deal extraordinarily advantageous because regardless of how much they make at the end of the month the amount they should pay remains fixed. But the members who are new to the business may not have a good client list and thus may not get the advantage of word-of-mouth. For such brand spanking new agents, the standard split is more preferable as they may not be able enough to make that fixed payment a month.

Also there are some factors that gobble the ultimate profit manufactured by the brokerage house and the representative. In case the brokerage house is a franchise, after every commission there's a charge fee that must be paid.

And then a certain percentage that comes out of the commission which is often paid by the seller at closing. However, this is can be negotiable depending on the sort of market. Another point open to debate is the way in which the commission can be divided. So, as you can see, it isn't just the 6 % but a load more things that count. Your agent gets the cash only after everyone else gets the money. - 23311

Forex Trade

By Bart Icles

The trading of the different currencies in the world is termed as forex trade, and it involves the trading of paired currencies. This type of market is what is known as Forex, FX or Foreign Exchange. An example is the currency pair of the dollar and the euro. When a trader is actively trading the market, he will see the current currency pair he is involved at present on the forex quote screen. This can be seen at the top left hand corner, with the left currency being the quote currency, and the currency on the right side as the base currency.

Forex trading is usually made through a Forex broker, with the forex trader choosing the currency pair that he wants to participate in accordingly. Trade orders can be done almost instantaneously with just a few clicks of the mouse to the designated broker, who then passes the order along to the Interbank Market partner to fill the position. When the trade is closed, the broker closes the position on the Interbank Market and whatever the gains or losses are is then credited to the clients account.

The advantage forex trade has over other investment markets is that it is not being controlled by a central trading system or entity, and that it happens in one continuous movement all over the world. Operating in a 24 hour period, it opens on a Sunday evening in Australia and closes on Friday in New York.

Forex trade happens all day and all night, except on weekends. Thus, any trader is able to find many price quotes for his traded currency pair and can therefore choose whatever action is most advantageous and profitable on his part. It is termed as an Over the Counter (OTC) market trading system wherein a currency can have multiple quotations for its price.

One of the main advantages of forex trade is that it is highly liquid and offers traders of any type to move even very large sums of money in and out of trading with the movement having the least effect on its price. With forex trading having no restrictions for directional trading, the trader can trade any currency he surmises will decrease or increase in value and gain profit from buying or selling it.

With this in mind, forex traders are not limited with specific rules to follow - as long as no laws are broken, and can base any of their trade decisions on the market's speculator's, the current trade conditions of major and leading economic countries and the behavior of major commodities. - 23311

Foreign Stock Investing For A Diversified Portfolio

By Riz Goodman

Investing in the stock market for long term gains is the best way to earn some extra money. Now there is a whole other avenue of investing in foreign markets to get better returns than the returns that you would get in the domestic stock market.

That said it used to be not so easy to buy shares of a non-US company but now that has become very simple and can be done with just a simple click. The first thing that you have to do is to check with your online brokerage house if they have the facility to trade in other countries stock exchanges. And also check if they will allow you to trade in the foreign stocks via your US dollar denominated account. Another option is to make sure that you invest in the ADR of the non-US companies listed. These ADR's reflect the underlying stocks as they are listed in the home stock exchange of the country.

Foreign stocks denominated mutual funds and the country specific mutual funds is another way to go for the foreign stocks. The best part of the whole deal is that then you are not bothered about foreign stocks analysis and any other regulatory hassles.

Foreign stocks are a risky bet as there are a lot of variables which are there which you need to consider like currency and exchanges rate fluctuations. Do proper research before investing in the emerging market stocks. But as always high risk and high gain is the motto. Though on the other side always invest for long term.

Proper research and due diligence is the key here and that will mean digging more information about foreign companies. There are specific brokerage houses that provide research on foreign companies. You can do your own research by looking up for the foreign companies on the internet. Foreign markets are bound to provide better returns in the longer run. - 23311

There Was Never A Better Time To Invest In Real Estate

The current economic crisis and the chance of an coming recession has driven the traditional real estate market, which worked on speculation and gambling to a virtual standstill. The credit that normally sustained it has disappeared as savings associations have started to massively recall their loans and to force foreclosures down upon those who have defaulted.

A direct side effect has been the chiseling of house prices to their lowest point in many years as debt weary owners wanting to get rid of their real estate before they are foreclosed are selling their houses for far below their market value. This means that the opportunity to purchase investment properties is here.

There is always a market for reasonably priced good homes even in the middle of a potentially explosive financial climate. Furthermore, housing markets tend to be cyclical and prices will eventually return so their current nadir, as long as it lasts, may be the last opportunity to buy investment properties at such bargain prices. The amount of property anxiously on sale at more than reasonable prices borders on the staggering.

Investors who are well versed enough in real estate, are aware of market fluxuations and are willing to run the risk which can be as high or low as the investor feels cozy with stand to make a killing in the middle and long term.

Whether an investor is seeking to buy a property to flip it immediately or to renovate before selling, this is a fantastic time. As long as the investor is disciplined, evenhanded, methodical and not seeking to make a fast and simple buck there has not been as a good of time to get valuable properties on the cheap in many a year. This is no time for people on the fence or amateurs who rely on luck and the gift of gab. For serious businessmen, however, the opportunities are yours for the taking. - 23311

Investing in Municipal Bonds of California

By Samuel James

Stock market is considered very risky for investors. There are other alternatives such as bonds. Bonds backed by the state government are very safe and have some the highest rating accorded to them by the agencies.

Various states issue bonds like the state of California issues the California Tax Free Municipal bonds and these are backed by the State government of California. It helps as that means as that means that your money is safe and state will pay you.

The advantage of these kinds of investments or as they are known as "municipal bonds" is that these are tax free and not very risky. That said in the last few years the state governments have been running huge deficits and that has made people more cautious. Overall the belief is that these are the one of very safe instruments for investment.

Always get your states municipal bonds as then they are tax free. This is because of the reason that these bonds are no longer tax free for residents of other states. That will mean that the State tax will have to be paid though the federal tax is not there.

Always spread your risk and that is good for your investments. Diversify so that some part is in municipal bonds. For higher gains you should invest some part in the stock market and you should have some part on the savings account.

More diversification means better money making opportunities. The diversification essentially means that you are spreading your risks. In case the stock market does not do well then you will at least have the other avenues where you can hope of getting stable returns. These bonds may not have sky rocketing returns like the stock market but the earning from these will be stable and very predictable. So invest in bonds for stability and safety. - 23311

Bulk REO Investing In Today's Market

By Jerome Pennix

Bulk REO Investing is proving to be one of the most profitable fields of investment during this year and potentially beyond. Bulk REO Investors profit by buying groups (commonly called portfolios) of properties from lenders who have foreclosed the properties and have urgent desire to reduce pressure on their balance sheets. Due to the urgency of the balance sheet needs of the banking institutions coupled with the investors ability to purchase a package of REO properties rather than singular properties, its quite possible for a well-financed bulk reo investor to acquire REO packages at extremely attractive deals.

Most investors make offers to financial institutions on the basis of a percentage of unpaid principal balance. This means that if they make an offer of 60 cents on the dollar for a package of mortgages with a remainder of $3,000,000 in principal balance, then they pay $1,800,000 to acquire that package.

At the conclusion of our reo portfolio transactions, we own multiple properties which must then be monetized to bring a return to our fund. To do this, we resell our properties to retail home buyers via seller financing. By cutting traditional lenders out of our transactions, we are able to sell our properties quickly and at very attractive terms.

Find out when the banks financial quarter ends. This is where they report their quarterly earnings and financials and when most of upper management get evaluated for bonuses. Just like any business, banks dont want to have these underperforming assets on their books especially when their earnings reports are due.

Analyze the deals, determine what you want to get them for, and put in your second (or third) best offer (never offer your best offer first).

Negotiate until its a win for all: you get to have several properties at lower than market value the bank walks away with those deals off of their books just in time for the quarterly earnings reports to shareholders.

The future seems quite bright for astute Bulk REO investors. - 23311
